What is sawn and split stone?
Sawn and split is the term referring to the most common type of building stone. This cut produces a stone that is sawn on the top and bottom for easy mortaring and stacking with a split face that provides a natural rough appearance for the buildings exterior.
What sizes does Lueders Limestone come in?
We are happy to provide custom sizes for your unique job. However, our most common sizes for sawn and split stone are face heights of 4", 6", 8.5", and 10.5". This stone comes standard with a four inch ledge depth and lengths ranging from 4" to 30".
How many square feet of coverage can I expect from a ton of sawn and split material?
As a general rule, you can expect around 45 square feet of coverage from one ton of sawn and split material. This is an approximate number dependent on the look you are trying to achieve and your individual masonry contractor. Where is your quarry located and do you allow visitors?
